Mia Christopher is an artist living and practicing in San Francisco, CA. She earned her BFA in Painting from California College of the Arts in 2012 and participated in the summer studio program under the auspices of The Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD) in Brooklyn in the summer of 2012. Her interdisciplinary work has been exhibited locally and internationally, with a recent two person exhibition with fellow Bay Area artist Chelsea Wong at Legion in San Francisco in 2015.
"Since graduating from CCA in 2012, Mia Christopher’s work has been evolving from delicate, figurative works on paper, to loose, gestural splashes of paint, glitter, nail polish, latex, and found materials on canvas or plexiglass. Her impulse to pick at things has led her to peel paintings from their substrates and show them as sculptural pieces–latex tiles, or amorphous blobs of glitter glue exist autonomously on the wall or on the ground. The one thing that has remained consistent in her work is her dedication to working in a sketchbook–an online archive of her thirty-plus books is regularly updated on her website." - Alyssa Block
